Gibson Explorer I used up all my savings.
I used up all my savings.

At Shibuya Ishibashi Gakki around 1980... I fell in love at first sight with Rick Dillinger's split head Explorer that I saw in Player's separate volume 'The Guitar2'. I never thought I would find it here! My feet went to the bank, not knowing if it was real or not.
I spent all my savings and everyone made fun of me.
I replaced the pickups with the ones that were on my friend's Florentine Cut Switchmaster (he is a Duncan freak).
The original pickups were early PAFs without seals.
Back then, you could choose as many bursts and strats as you wanted, but only if you had the money to pay for them. Nowadays, the price has jumped up to 10 times of what it was then.
What about my Explorer? I'm not so sure.

After organizing my guitar, I finally got refreshed. I have a lot of guitars I want, so I'm sure there will be more, but I feel sorry for the guitars I don't use, so it's annoying. Actually, about 3 is the best, though. Well, at one point I didn't have a place to sleep, and when I think about it, I feel refreshed even if it increases. ·Smile
