It is equipped with a full-size humbucker like the old model, and the output of the PU is higher, so it sounds like a recent SG. Also, the sustain is unusually long, perhaps because this is the case with this particular model.

This is my fifth electric guitar, purchased in November '16.
This is my first Gibson, which is a bit out of the ordinary for such a memorable first guitar.
I had been looking for a USED Firebird Studio (apparently produced between '04 and '06) for a long time, but the chance didn't come around, so I bought a Telecass or something in the meantime. I decided to buy it as soon as it was revived as a 2017 model.
The head is non-reverberating, which is a big difference from the old model, as you can see in the picture.
The strings are the same as when I bought it (light gauge), but I plan to put Roto Orange strings on it soon like the others.
