Miraculous encounter at Hard Off!
I got a clunker, and the cost of modification was almost free.
I was able to fix it with some variable resistors and stuff that I had lying around the house.
The DC resistance of the pickup is 7.0kΩ.
The pickguard has been replaced.
The pickup cover has been blacked out with magic pen by the previous owner.
The cover can't be removed by soldering.
